Email Setup on Master Gas

When sending emails from Master Gas App on an Apple device Master Gas uses the Mail app to do the sending. It is handled outside of Master Gas itself, however below are some hints and tips to assist you in troubleshooting.

Please ensure you have the following setup correctly.

1. Check you have the Mail app installed on the device. You can open the AppStore and search for Mail. If this isn't installed then install it now.

 

2. Open the Settings App for the device and scroll down to the Mail option.

3. Select Accounts.

4. If you already have your mail account listed then select it and check you have the correct details set. Often an issue occurs when a password has been changed elsewhere and not updated in settings on the device. 

If you do not have the email account setup click Add Account and follow the onscreen prompts to add your mail account.


Default sending account

You can have multiple email accounts setup on a device. Master Gas will use whichever of your mail accounts you have set as the default account. You can set your default account by doing the following.


1. Open Settings App and select Mail.

2. Scroll towards the bottom and tap on Default Account.

3. Tap on the mail account you would like to be your default and a blue tick will be put against that account. 

You can now close Settings.

 

Testing 

To test the above has been setup correctly open the Mail app and compose a new email and send to someone you know who can check it has arrived.


You can now use Master Gas to email a form and check it is working as expected.


Frequent Questions

Does my account email have to be the same as the email I'm sending from?

No, your account email is just used for us to send you a reminder when making your subscription payments. It doesn't relate to your sending of emails from the app to your customers.

Can I use a third party email app still?

Yes, you can still use a third party email app for your day to day emails (for example Gmail, Outlook etc). However you must still have the mail app installed and setup as above even if you are not using that for your day to day emails.


I'm still having problems with my email setup what do I do?
Email support is outside the scope of our Master Gas support because your email is provided by a third party. If you are having issues with your email account itself please contact your email provider and ask them to help you with your email setup.
