Creating an Estimate/Quote

Follow

Creating an estimate/quote with Master Gas is easy, here is how:

1. Within Master Gas go to the Accounts tab and select Create New Estimate/Quote.

2. You will now have the main menu to your estimate/quote, you will see an automatically unique generated number at the top. This is ALWAYS unique.

3. You can enter your own reference and work order reference number if required.

4. Select the type you require - Estimate or Quote.

5. Select your customer by tapping on customer not selected. You will be presented with the customer address screen. Tap the (+) next to customer name and select your customer from the list, if you do not have the customer in Master Gas yet then tap the + button in the top right corner to create a new customer. You can find out more about creating customers here. After you have created your customer tap save and then select the customer from the list. Your customer address details will then be filled in, tap save again.

6. If this estimate/quote is for a site address of a customer (for example a landlord's tenant address) then tap Site Address and then tap the (+) next to Tenant Name. If you haven't created the site address you can create it here in the same way you created the address above for the customer.

7. Now lets add some items. Tap the items button.

8. You will first be presented with a blank screen, tap the + button in the top right corner to create your first item.

9. Within the Item screen you have two options. You can simply fill out all the details entering a description, quantity, price, any discount and vat (total is automatically calculated).

Alternatively, if you have already setup some pre-entered invoice stock items we can select from those. At the side of the item description select the >. All of your predefined stock items are listed, tap the item you would like to add to the estimate, you can then edit any of the fields as you require.

If you haven't setup any pre-entered stock items you can find out more here.

10. You can now repeat steps 8 & 9 adding in any items you require to build up your estimate/quote.

11. After you have finished entering items tap the < Back button in the top left corner to return to the main estimate/quote screen.

12. You can now set the Date, Terms, due date and any comments you would like to appear on the estimate/quote.

13. Now your estimate/quote is complete you can tap View Estimate/Quote to see the finished document. From the preview screen you can email, print or send to dropbox. Tap the Actions button in the top right corner to display the available actions.

When you have finished tap the back button and make sure you tap the save button to exit the estimate/quote.
